At Holme NOA seawatching produced 1 Great Crested Grebe, 14 Gannets, 2 Arctic Skuas, 1 2nd year Med Gull, 14 Sandwich Terns, 43 Common Terns, an Arctic Tern and a Guillemot. 13 Golden Plover flew over west and a Hobby was hawking dragonflies in the pines.

Moth trapping included a Light Emerald, 150 Large Yellow Underwings, 4 Saltern Ears, 1 Canary Shouldered Thorn, 3 Double-striped Pugs, 2 Southern Wainscots and a Fen Wainscot.

At Holme NOA moth trapping included a Hedge Rustic, 173 Large Yellow Underwings, 23 Silver Ys, 20 Setaceous Hebrew Characters, 27 Flame Shoulders, 65 Small Square Spots, 2 Burnished Brass, 1 Garden Tiger and 2 Frosted Oranges.

At Redwell Marsh a Spotted Reshank and a Wood Sandpiper were of note, together with at least 15 Snipe, 2 Little Grebes, 20 House Martins and 30 Swallows.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 4 Teal, 1 Eider, 51 Common Scoter, 2 Great Crested Grebes, 2 Fulmars, 50 Gannets, 5 Arctic Skuas, 26 Sandwich Terns, 55 Common Terns, 1 Arctic Terns, 7 Little Terns, 6 Guillemots and 3 Razorbills. 1 Avocet, 31 Ringed Plovers, 5 Grey Plovers, 9 Snipe, 10 Black-tailed Godwits and 1 Whimbrel were around the marsh. 6 Turtle Doves were of note, and 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 7 Sand Martins, 107 Swallows and a Yellow Wagtail flew over west. A Whinchat, a Stonechat and a Wheatear were all in the dunes together with a Lesser Whitethroat, 2 Whitethroats and a Blackcap.

Moth trapping included a Pinion-streaked Snout, a White Point, a Frosted Orange, 7 Ear sp and a Twin-spotted Wainscot.

On Redwell Marsh 2 Spotted Redshanks, 1 Wood Sandpipers, 1 Redshank, 3 Green Sandpipers, 1 Common Sandpiper, 2 Oystercatchers, 19 Lapwings, 20+ Snipe, 1 Black-tailed Godwit and 2 Little Grebes were recorded. A juvenile Arctic Skua landed on the scrape early morning before flying off north.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 176 Common Scoter, 2 Fulmars, 55 Gannets, 3 Arctic Skuas, 42 Sandwich Terns, 63 Common Terns and a juvnile Arctic Tern.

Moth trapping included 98 Small Square Spots, 77 Large Yellow Underwings, a White Point, an Angle-barred Pug, an Orange Swift, 2 Six-striped Rustics and a Yellow Tail.

On Redwell Marsh 2 Spotted Redshanks, a Common Sandpiper and 30 Snipe were recorded.

Sunday 24th August 2008
At Holme NOA seawatching produced 5 Eider, 132 Common Scoter, 32 Gannets, 33 Sandwich Terns, 16 Common Terns, 2 Little Terns and 2 Razorbills. 2 Little Egrets were on the beach and 3 Common Buzzards were circling by the church mid afternoon. A Greenshank flew over calling, and 2 Turtle Doves were around the reserve. A Reed Warbler, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 2 Whitethroats, 1 BLackcap, 2 Willow Warblers, 3 Goldcrests and a Treecreeper were also counted.

Moth trapping included a Garden Tiger, 8 Silver Ys, 155 Large Yellow Underwings, 1 Dark Sword-grass, 16 White-line Darts, 1 Frosted Orange and a Lesser Swallow Prominent.

Two Spotted Redshanks, 1 Wood Sandpiper, 2 Green Sandpipers, 2 Common Sandpipers and 20+ Snipe were of note on Redwell Marsh. A Yellow Wagtail flew over calling.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 29 Teal, 16 Common Scoter, 8 Great Crested Grebes, 6 Fulmars, 59 Gannets, 5 Arctic Skuas, 1 juv Long-tailed Skua east, 1 juv Sabines Gull east, 1 Med Gull east, 17 Sandwich Terns, 16 Common Terns and a Little Tern.

Moth trapping included 1 Rosy Wave, 1 Drinker, 1 Angle-barred Pug, 28 Large Yellow Underwings and 7 Silver Ys. Butterflies included 4 Graylings, 5 Wall Browns, 7 Common Blues, 5 Brown Argus, 1 Small Copper and a Small Heath.

On Redwell Marsh 1 Wood Sandpiper, 1 Green Sandpiper, 2 Common Sandpipers, 15 Snipe, 2 Spotted Redshanks, 2 Little Ringed Plovers, 50+ Swallows, 100+ House Martins and a Green Woodpecker were recorded.

Friday 22nd August 2008
At Holme NOA seawatching produced 1 Eider, 30 Common Scoter, 3 Great Crested Grebes, 3 Fulmars, 28 Gannets, 10 Arctic Skuas, 83 Sandwich Terns, 60 Common Terns, 1 Arctic Tern, 4 Little Terns and a Black Tern. A Common Buzzard and 2 Marsh Harriers were of note, and a Blackcap, 4 Willow Warblers and a Treecreeper were of interest around the reserve.

Moth trapping included 92 Large Yellow Underwings, a White Point, 5 Silver Ys, 3 Canary Shouldered Thorns, 1 Small Wainscot and 2 Angle-barred Pugs.

At Redwell Marsh two Wood Sandpipers, a Spotted Redshank, a Green Sandpiper and 3+ Common Sandpipers were of note, together with 12 Snipe and 15 Lapwings.

Around the marsh 1 Avocet, 2 Little Ringed Plovers, 10 Snipe, 30 Black-tailed Godwits, and a Green and Common Sandpiper were seen. A Turtle Dove, 2 Lesser Whitethroats, 6 Swifts and a Stonechat were also of note.

Moth trapping included 223 Large Yellow Underwings, 2 Silver Ys, 1 Burnished Brass and a Campion.

On Redwell Marsh waders included 2 Spotted Redshanks.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 100+ Common Scoter, 4 Great Crested Grebes, 3 Manx Shearwaters, 9 Gannets, 1 Little Gull, 4 Arctic Skuas, 39 Sandwich Terns and 14 Common Terns. A Marsh Harrier, 3 Black-tailed Godwits, 10+ Whimbrel and 2 Swifts were of note flying over, while around the reserve a Turtle Dove, 3 Lesser Whitethroats, 2 Blackcaps, 2 Willow Warblers, 4 Goldcrests and a Treecreeper were of note. 2 Stonechats were in the dunes.

Moth trapping included a superb Scarce Bordered Straw.

On Redwell Marsh a Spotted Redshank, 2 Wood Sandpipers, 2 Green Sandpipers, 3 Common Sandpipers, 17 Black-tailed Godwits, 2 Little Ringed Plovers, 20 Lapwings and 30+ Snipe were all of note.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 23 Common Scoter, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 3 Fulmars, 6 Gannets, 1 pale phase Arctic Skua west, 12 Sandwich Terns, 102 Common Terns and 24 Little Terns.

Moth trapping included 92 Large Yellow Underwings, a Turnip Moth, 1 Flounced Rustic, 4 Archer's Darts and 6 White-line Darts. Several Silver Ys were feeding near the Observatory, and Grayling butterfly was also noted.

At Redwell Marsh NOA a Spotted Redshank was inf front of the hide for much of the day, a Green Sandpiper, 2+ Common Sandpipers, 2 Little Ringed Plovers and 5 Common Terns were also of note.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 17 Teal, 16 Eider, 183 Common Scoter, 5 Great Crested Grebes, 2 Fulmars, 74 Gannets, 5 Arctic Skuas, 103 Sandwich Terns, 72 Common Terns, 1 Arctic Tern, 5 Little Terns and a Guillemot. Waders of note included a single Avocet, 1 Green Sandpiper, 31 Black-tailed Godwits and 11 Snipe. 2 Turtle Doves and 6 Swifts were vounted, and 2 Stonechats were in the dunes. Also of interest were 4 Blackcaps, 2 Willow Warblers and 2 Whitethroats.

On Redwell Marsh 3 Little Ringed Plovers, 3 Yellow Wagtails, a winter plumage Spotted Redshank, 3+ Common Sandpipers, 21 Black-tailed Godwits, 1 Green Sandpiper, 2 Redshanks and 15+ Snipe were counted.

Butterflies included Red Admiral, Painted Lady, Grayling and Gatekeeper.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 160 Common Scoter, 2 Great Crested Grebes, 1 Fulmar, 20 Gannets, 1 Arctic Skua, 50 Sandwich Terns, 97 Common Terns, 2 Arctic Terns, 1 Little Tern and 2 Guillemots. 5 Grey Herons came in off the sea and settled on the beach. 26 Ringed Plovers, 9 Knot, 14 Sanderling, 17 Snipe, 13 Black-tailed Godwits, 2 Greenshank, 3 Green Sandpipers and a Common Sandpiper were also of note. A Turtle Dove, 1 Green and 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers were around the reserve.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 120 Common Scoter, 3 Great Crested Grebes, 20 Sandwich Terns, 40 Common Terns and 3 Little Terns. A ring-tail Hen Harrier was hunting in the dunes early morning and around the Observatory 2 Treecreepers, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 1 Blackcap, 1 Kingfisher and a single Crossbill were of note. Waders included 5 Black-tailed Godwits, 4 Whimbrel, 28 Curlew and a Green Sandpiper.

Moth trapping included a Brown Tail, Archer's Dart, 2 Dusky Sallow, 3 Scarce Footmen, 3 White-line Darts and a Vapourer. Butterflies included 5 Brown Argus, 1 Comma, 7 Graylings, 1 Painted Lady, 25 Red Admirals and 2 Wall Browns.

On Redwell Marsh 2 Common Sandpipers and at least 15 Snipe were of note. A Buzzard and a Sparrowhawk were also recorded.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 350 Common Scoter, 2 Great Crested Grebes, 3 Fulmars, 25 Gannets, 10 Arctic Skuas, 71 Sandwich Terns, 79 Common Terns, 14 Arctic Terns, 3 Little Terns and 4 Guillemots. Around the reserve 2 Treecreepers were with the tit flock, and in the dunes a ring-tail Hen Harrier was of particular interest.

Moth trapping included 3 Silver Ys, an Eyed Hawk Moth, 1 Copper Underwing and 37 Large Yellow Underwings. Butterflies included Comma, Red Admiral, Grayling, Painted Lady, Common Blue and Wall Brown.

At Redwell Marsh a Wood Sandpiper and at least 3 Common Sandpipers were of note.

A Turtle Dove, 2 Swifts, 1 Ruff, 2 Whimbrels, 1 Greenshank, 1 Green Sandpiper, 2 Sand Martins, 10 Swallows, 2 Blackcaps, 1 Treecreeper and a single Crossbill were also of note.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 400 Common Scoter, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 26 Gannets, 47 Sandwich Terns, 11 Common Terns and 4 Little Terns. A Ruff, 8 Snipe, 3 Black-tailed Godwits and 3 Green Sandpipers were of note and a Stonechat was also of interest. A single Swift and 4 Turtle Doves were also recorded.

Moth trapping included 2 White Points, 1 Pine Hawk Moth, 74 Large Yellow Underwings, 34 Common Rustics, 35 Flame Shoulders, 3 Drinkers, 3 White-line Darts and a Double Lobed. Butterflies included 8 Graylings, 10 Red ADmirals, a Gatekeeper and a Comma.

At Redwell Marsh a Marsh Harrier, 6 Black-tailed Godwits, 1 Wood Sandpiper and 1 Common Sandpiper were counted.

Sunday 10th August 2008
At Holme NOA seawatching produced 265 Common Scoter, 3 Fulmars, 14 Gannets, 18 Sandwich Terns and 4 Common Terns. A Turtle Dove and a Willow Warbler were of note around the reserve and a Greenshank flew over calling.

Moth trapping included a Pebble Prominent, Spectacle and Archer's Dart.

On Redwell Marsh a Wood Sandpiper was again present during the day.

Butterflies included Brimstone, Grayling and Painted Lady, and moth trapping included over 700 Moths of 75 Species. Highlights were an Oak Hook-tip, Poplar Hawk Moth, 158 Large Yellow Underwings, 47 Dingy Footmen, a Gold Spot, 2 Small Waved Umber, 3 Silver Ys and an Iron Prominent.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 6 Gannets, 7 Arctic Skuas, 41 Sandwich Terns and 8 Common Terns. A Little Egret, 41 Oystercatchers, 5 Sanderling, 38 Bar-tailed Godwits, 3 Whimbrel, 19 Curlew, 11 Redshank and 10 Turnstones were also of note.

Moth trapping included a Peppered Moth, 1 Oak Eggar, 1 Small Elephant Hawk Moth, 4 Ruby Tigers and a Silky Wainscot.

2 Graylings were near the Observatory and Red Admiral, Peacock and Small Tortiseshell were also noted.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 70 Common Scoter, 1 Fulmar, 18 Gannets, 5 Arctic Skuas, 5 Kittiwakes, 65 Sandwich Terns, 22 Common Terns and 2 Little Terns. 3 Whimbrel, a Greenshank and a Green Sandpiper were of note over the marsh and both Green and Great Spotted Woodpeckers were around the reserve.

Moth trapping produced 69 species of moth including 4 Kent Black Arches, 1 Black Arches, 3 Poplar Hawks, 1 Pine Hawk, 6 Brown Tails, 38 Dingy Footmen, 13 Ruby Tigers and 68 Large Yellow Underwings.

Butterflies included Red Admiral and Gatekeeper.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 1 Eider, 300+ Common Scoter, 2 Fulmars, 9 Arctic Skuas, 2 Kittiwakes, 54 Sandwich Terns and 17 Common Terns. 3 Turtle Doves were in the area and a Treecreeper and 4+ Goldcrests were with the tit flock. 3 Blackcaps were also of note.

Moth trapping included 7 Brown Tails, a True Lover's Knot, 2 Pine and 2 Poplar Hawk Moths, 1 Garden Tiger, 1 Rosy Wave, 1 Fern, 7 Ruby Tigers and a Latticed Heath.

Butterflies included 3 Red Admirals, 1 Comma, 1 Grayling and 20 Gatekeepers.

At Redwell late evening 6 Green Sandpipers, 3 Common Sandpipers, 2 Black-tailed Godwits, 2 Ruff and 3 Avocets were of note on the scrapes.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 246 Common Scoter, 1 Fulmar, 14 Gannets, 9 Arctic Skuas, 83 Sandwich Terns, 48 Common Terns and 3 Little Terns. 4 Whimbrel and a Green Sandpiper were of note on the marsh, and 1 Sand Martin, 18 Swallows and 40 House Martins flew through during the day. 3 Sedge Warblers, 2 Reed Warblers, 2 Whitethroats, 2 Blackcaps, 5 Goldcrests, 1 Treecreeper and 5 Crossbills were of note around the reserve.

Moth trapping included a Blue Bordered Carpet, 3 Knot Grasses, 3 Dusky Sallows, 8 Scarce Footmen, 1 Nut-tree Tussock, 1 Cloaked Minor, 1 Garden Tiger and a Brown Tail moth.

At Redwell Marsh 1 Ruff and 2 Green Sandpipers were of interest, together with at least 2 Turtle Doves.

Thursday 24th July 2008
At Holme NOA seawatching produced 1 Eider, 13 Gannets, 1 Little Gull, 13 Sandwich Terns, 3 Common Terns and 10 Little Terns. A Turtle Dove and 31+ Crossbills were around the reserve, and a Kingfisher was of note. 5 Sand MArtins and 35 Swallows flew through east, and Lesser Whitethroat, Whitethroat, Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Goldcrest and Treecreeper were with the tit flock at the west end of the reserve.

At Redwell Marsh 8 Black-tailed Godwits and 5 Ruff were counted.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 231 Common Scoter, 1 Red-breasted Merganser, 6 Great Crested Grebes, 9 Fulmars, 21 Gannets, 3 Arctic Skuas, 2 Little Gulls, 1 juvenile Kittiwake, 158 Sandwich Terns, 8 Common Terns and 33 Little Terns. Waders included 33 Oystercatchers, 3 Golden Plover, 79 Sanderling, 3 Dunlin, 3 Ruff, 12 Bar-tailed Godwits, 3 Whimbrels, 2 Curlews and 2 Green Sandpipers. Lesser Whitethroat, Whitethroat, Blackcap and Willow Warbler were all around the reserve. A single Crossbill was in the pines briefly and a Treecreeper was still with the tit flock.

Moth trapping included 2 Privet Hawks, 1 Peppered Moth, 1 Swallowtail and a Silver Y. Butterflies included Red Admiral, Comma and Gatekeeper.

On Redwell Marsh 4 Black-tailed Godwits, 2 Green Sandpipers, 6 Ruff and at least 3 Redshank were of note.

A Common Buzzard, Marsh Harrier and a Kestrel were of note, and around the reserve a Barn Owl, Turtle Dove, Reed and Sedge Warbler, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 6 Whitethroats and 1 Willow Warbler were of interest.

Moth trapping included a Poplar Hawk Moth, 1 Leopard Moth, 1 Peppered Moth, 1 White-line Dart and a Buff Arches.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 5 Teal west, 1 Eider, 30 Arctic Skua, 4 Gannets, 1 Arctic Skua, 46 Sandwich Terns, 49 Common Terns, 2 Arctic Terns and 123 Little Terns. A Whimbrel, 1 Turtle Dove, 12 Swifts, 2 Swallows and 1 Treecreeper with the tit flock were of note.

Moth trapping (NOA Moth Day) produced 520 moths of 90 species. Highlights were a Kent Black Arches, Peach Blossom, Buff Arches, Pine and Poplar Hawk Moths, Mullein, 9 Silky Wainscots, 2 Garden Tigers, Campion, Ruby Tiger, Brown Tail and Double Lobed.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 1 Arctic Skua east, 32 Sandwich Terns, 21 COmmon Terns, 10 Little Terns and 2 summer plumage Razorbills. On the beach 49 Oystercatchers, 31 Sanderling, 7 Bar-tailed Godwits, 4 Curlew and 58 Dunlin were counted. A Little Egret flew east over the dunes and a Sedge and a Reed Warbler were singing from the reeds.

A Turtle Dove was on wires along the approach road and on the reserve a Treecreeper, 2 Lesser Whitethroats, 1 Blackcap, 2 Chiffchaffs and a Goldcrest were with the tit flock.

Butterflies included Small Tortoiseshell, Gatekeeper and Ringlet.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 1 Fulmar, 6 Gannets, 4 Little Gulls, 4 Sandwich Terns, 1 Common Tern and 2 Little Terns. A Barn Owl was hunting in the dunes early morning and a Marsh Harrier flew west.

Moth trapping produced 3 Privet Hawk Moths, 8 Scarce Footmen, 2 Yellow Tails, 1 Small Magpie, 1 Coomon Emerald, 7 Uncertain, 1 Clouded Border, 1 Shore Wainscot and a Brimstone Moth. Butterflies included Meadow Brown, Gatekeeper and Comma.

At Redwell Marsh 3 Avocets, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, 8 Ruff, 6+ Green Sandpipers, 5 Redshank, 3 Ruddy Ducks, 4 Little Grebes, 2 families of Tufted Ducks, a family of Pochard and a Snipe were of particular note.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 1 Eider, 51 Common Scoter, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 3 Fulmars, 31 Gannets, 69 Sandwich Terns, 29 Common Terns, 11 Little Terns and 1 Guillemot. 25 Whimbrel were of note together with 4 Little Gulls, 1 Barn Owl, 2 Sand Martins and 9 Crossbills.

Butterflies included Ringlet, Small White, Red Admiral and Gatekeeper

At Walsey Hills 2 Blackcaps, 1 Chiffchaff, 1 Marsh Harrier and a Green Sandpiper on Popes Marsh were of note. A Muntjac was on the reserve, and a Black-tailed Skimmer dragonfly, 11 Ringlets, 2 Commas and a Common Blue were also recorded.

Friday 4th July 2008

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 7 Common Scoter, 3 Fulmars, 3 Gannets, 1 Med Gull, 14 Little Gulls, 214 Sandwich Terns, 14 Common Terns and 12 Little Terns. Four House Martins flew through west and a Turtle Dove was on the reserve. A Lesser Whitethroat was singing and at least 2 Crossbills were in the pines mid morning.

Moth trapping included Privet, Poplar and Elephant Hawk Moths, 2 Peppered Moths, Common Emerald and Silver Y.

Sunday 29th June 2008
At Holme NOA seawatching produced 1 Eider, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Fulmar, 150+ Sandwich Terns, 20 Common Terns, 1 Little Tern, and an adult Roseate Tern was again on the beach west of the seawatching point at 10.30am. A Little Egret, Water Rail and 3 Avocets were of note, and around the reserve a Turtle Dove was seen. 2 Sedge Warblers, 1 Reed Warbler and 2 Whitethroats were also of interest.

Moth trapping included an Elephant Hawk Moth, 1 Poplar Hawk Moth, 1 Peppered Moth, 1 Buff Arches, 1 Cream Bordered Green Pea, 1 Haworth's Pug and 6 Shore Wainscots.

On Redwell Marsh a Little Ringed Plover and a Ruff were of particular note.

Saturday 28th June 2008
At Holme NOA seawatching produced an adult Roseate Tern on the beach with Sandwich Terns at 10.30am, also 1 Fulmar, 122 Sandwich Terns and 3 Common Terns. A Marsh Harrier was hunting and 8 Avocets were of note. Three Turtle Doves, 1 Cuckoo, 15 Swifts, 2 Swallows, 4 House Martins, 2 Sedge Warblers, 1 Reed Warbler, 2 Lesser Whitethroats, 1 Whitethroat, 1 Goldcrest, 8 Long-tailed Tits, 10 Goldfinches and 3 Linnets were of interest. At least 2 Crossbills were in the pines early afternoon but mobile.

Butterflies included Small Skipper, Ringlet, Meadow Brown, Speckled Wood, Small Heath, Common Blue, and a Dark Green Fritillary flew west along the east bank around midday.

At Redwell Marsh a Black-tailed Godwit was of note.

Friday 27th June 2008
At Holme NOA 10 Sandwich Terns flew over the dunes and a Turtle Dove and a Cuckoo were of note. A Reed, one Sedge Warbler and a Whitethroat were also recorded.

Moth trapping included a Poplar Hawk Moth and a Striped Wainscot. Butterflies included a Small Skipper, a Ringlet, 1 Brown Argus and a Red Admiral.

At Redwell Marsh 2 Green Sandpipers were noted.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 3 Fulmars, 22 Gannets, 24 Sandwich Terns, 2 Common Terns and 2 Little Terns. A Marsh Harrier, 12 Avocets and 3 Little Egrets were of note around the marsh, and on the reserve 1 Turtle Dove, 1 Barn Owl, 2 Sedge Warblers, 2 Reed Warblers, 2 Whitethroats and a Goldcrest were of interest. A flock of 5 Crossbills were present but mobile for much of the day.

Moth trapping included a Plain Golden Y, 1 Peppered Moth, 1 Small Elephant Hawk, 1 Figure of 80 and a Cream Bordered Green Pea.

At Redwell Marsh 14 Black-tailed Godwits, 10+ Redshank and a Green Sandpiper were of note.

At Holme NOA a flock of 30+ Crossbills was in the pines and mobile from mid morning onwards. A Cuckoo, 12 Swifts, 20 Avocets, 2 Sedge Warblers, 3 Reed Warblers and a Turtle Dove were also of note.

Moth trapping included a Peppered Moth and a Small Elephant Hawk. A Red Admiral butterfly was also of note.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 1 Eider, 40 Common Scoter, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 2 Fulmars, 7 Gannets, 63 Sandwich Terns, 18 Common Terns and 27 Little Terns. A flock of 8 Crossbills was again around the reserve, and a Whimbrel and a Greenshank flew over calling.

Moth trapping included 1 Poplar Hawk, 8 Cinnabars, 5 Common Swifts, 1 Angle Shades, 1 Lyme Grass, 2 Peppered Moths and a Vine's Rustic.

Sunday 15th June 2008
At Holme NOA seawatching produced 2 Common Scoter, 11 Sandwich Terns, 2 Common Terns and 5 Little Terns. A Hobby was hunting just beyond the Broadwater and a Cuckoo was also of note. A flock of 14+ Crossbills were in the pines mid afternoon and flew off south around 4pm. A Redpoll sp flew over west.

Moth trapping included 1 Eyed Hawk, 1 Privet Hawk, 1 Poplar Hawk, 2 Peppered Moths, 4 White Ermines, 1 Silver Y, 1 Figure of 80 and 1 Sand Dart. A Painted Lady butterfly was also of interest.

Saturday 14th June 2008
At Holme NOA seawatching produced a female Eider, 1 Fulmar, 7 Gannets, 5 Sandwich Terns, 1 Common Tern and 8 Little Terns. A Greenshank, 2 Avocets and 40 Golden Plover were of note around the marsh, and 2 Med Gulls flew over east. A Cuckoo and 3 Turtle Doves were of interest, and a Tawny Owl was in the pines. 10 Swallows, 3 House Martins, 30 Swifts, 1 Grasshopper Warbler, 4 Sedge Warblers, 6 Reed Warblers, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 3 Whitethroats, 1 Blackcap and a Chiffchaff were also recorded.

Moth trapping produced 1 Bordered White, 4 Cinnabars, 3 Yellow Belles, 1 Flame Shoulder, 1 Willow Beauty, 5 Common Swifts, 2 Small Square Spots, 2 Buff Ermines, 1 Mottled Rustic, 1 White Ermine, 1 Flame, 1 Mottled Beauty, 1 Riband Wave, 1 Dog's Tooth, 1 Fern and a Peppered Moth.

Butterflies included 5 Common Blues, 10 Small Heaths, 1 Brown Argus and a Red Admiral.

Friday 13th June 2008
At Holme NOA a Cuckoo, 1 Turtle Dove, 25 Swifts, 2 Sedge Warblers, 1 Reed Warbler, 8 Goldfinches and a Siskin were of note.

Moth trapping produced 1 Cinnabar, 1 Privet Hawk, 1 Small Elephant Hawk, 3 Common Swifts, 1 Buff Ermine, 2 Heart & Darts, 1 Sand Dart, 1 Spectacle, 1 White Ermine, 1 Treble Lines, 1 Small Square Spot and a Common Pug.

Butterflies included 4 Speckled Woods and a Wall Brown.

Moth trapping produced 2 Privet Hawks, 1 Silver Y,, 1 Spectacle, 2 White Ermines and a Purple Bar. Butterflies included Small Heath and Speckled Wood.

Moth trapping produced 1 Privet Hawk, 1 Elephant Hawk, 1 Grass Rivulet, 1 Bordered White, 1 Silver Y, 1 Cream Bordered Green Pea, 2 Cinnabars, 5 Treble Lines, 2 White Ermines, 2 Common Swifts, 6 Small Square Spots, 2 Setaceous Hebrew Characters and 2 Flame Shoulders.

Butterflies included 2 Speckled Woods and a Painted Lady along Thornham Bank.

At Holme NOA a Marsh Harrier and a Hobby were of note, 3 Avocets, 18 Lapwings, 2 Black-tailed Godwits and a Greenshank were of note. 2 Sandwich and 4 Common Terns flew over the Broadwater and 2 Turtle Doves were of interest as was a Barn Owl over the marsh. Six Swifts, 6 Swallows, 25 House Martins, 2 Sedge Warblers, 4 Reed Warblers, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 3 Whitethroats, 4 Crossbills, 3 Bullfinches and a Reed Bunting were also recorded.

Moth trapping included 1 Silky Wainscot, 2 Bordered Whites, 1 Spectacle, 1 Buff Ermine and a Clouded Bordered Brindle.
